“Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a definitive direction” (Verbum Domini §11,2). This course will look at the underpinnings of Christian Spirituality in Sacred Scripture as the revealed Word of God. We will also explore a number of different approaches of praying with and experiencing Scripture as an approach to encountering Jesus.

What you can expect to do:

· Explore sacred Scripture and its basis and role in the life of the Church as the Body of Christ.
· Explore different traditions within the Church for encountering and resting in the presence and love of God.
· Encounter Jesus as a Divine friend in sacred Scripture through prayerful reading and the working of the Holy Spirit.

Upon completion of this course, you will have been introduced to various approaches for engaging Jesus as the Word of God incarnate in sacred Scripture.
